Today has been a very hard day! For weeks now I have had a bad feeling about our agency. This morning we started investigating the agency and got terrible news! The state is investigating for wrong doings and there have been almost 100 complaints filed with an attorney. From what we can determine, there are always promises of a quick placement but very few (less than 10) if any adoptions have actually taken place in the last year. Now before everyone says we did something wrong - let me just say we checked them out before paying them! The Better Business Bureau, references, the state agencies, doctors - everyone was very favorable! That was almost 2 years ago and what we have learned the agency was at one time reputable. Things have evidently changed.
What do we do now! PRAY! We are at the lowest of low points. Jeff and I have cried, laughed, questioned and any other emotion you can think of today. We do not know what to do next. We are still hopeful that the birth mother we have been in contact with will place her child with us. We still want to grow our family through adoption! We have paid very large amounts to this agency so our funds are depleted! We simply do not know what to do now! I just keep thinking that maybe this is all a big misunderstanding and the agency will come through for us but the reality is that it will more than likely not happen!
We are taking a step back, praying a lot, and trying to figure out what to do now! Pray for us! And if anyone knows of a good place to start let us know!
