Christmas is always great! Usually very busy but always lots of fun and lots of time with family. Christmas Eve we eat dinner at my Dad's brothers house with most of my Dad's family. After dinner we go to my Mom's brothers to open gifts and usually eat again with them! Then we come back to mine and Jeff's house for the night. My parents and my Aunt Patsy have started a new tradition of spending Christmas Eve night in anticipation of the Christmas we will have a baby to have fun with and see Santa Clause all together. Christmas morning we get up and have breakfast together. Olivia comes to our house to spend the day with me and her Dad and opens her gifts from us, my parents, and my Aunt. Later in the day everyone gathers again at my Aunt Patsy's house for a late lunch. Usually the crowd is not as big but we always have fun. As you can tell, we eat a lot, visit a lot, and change locations a lot!
The following weekend Jeff's family all get together so we will see them in Memphis tomorrow night. More time with family and eating! It seems to be a pattern with us! We will pick Olivia up after she goes to church with her mother tomorrow night and then join the rest of the family for dinner.
Today my Mom and I spent most of the day at the yarn store knitting. I had so much fun! It was nice to just settle down after all of the crazy hustle and bustle of the holiday with just sitting and knitting with my Mom. Yes I am a big Mommas baby and still love to be with my Momma and when I am sick I want my Momma! Laugh if you want to but there his nothing better than Momma when you are sick!
Enough about our Christmas! Jeff and I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Continue to pray for us while we travel this journey! Continue to pray about the possible match situation we have recently been introduced to. Pray for that family, the couple, their parents, and everyone involved. Not matter what decisions they make they will not be easy or made lightly! Jeff and I pray for guidance for us and well as for them! Pray that we will all know what God is leading us to do!
Also, say an extra pray for Amy Cobb tonight! She has what we lovingly call "the adoption funk". It is when you know you are doing what God has planned but it is still not easy. You just feel like nothing is going right and that the placement is never going to happen. Everybody you see is either pregnant or has a newborn! I have had "the adoption funk" lately but I am feeling better. Amy sent me a text message today and said she was feeling down. Just lift her up to the Lord! This is not an easy path but Jay and Amy know, like Jeff and I, that God has lead them to adopt!
Merry Christmas!
I remember Christmases with your mom and dad before you were born! They would wake me up in the middle of the night Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and I always wondered how they knew when Santa had been there. :) I am hoping and praying that next Christmas they will have another little one to wake up in the middle of the night to share the magic. Looks like Christmas with the Pierce's and McCrory's was a blast! My how the so-called little ones are growing up so fast. Everybody looks so good - thank you for sharing. Well, I for one am hoping really hard that this soon-to-be new mother decides to share her baby with you. One thing is for certain, he or she will be well taken care of and loved. Merry Christmas and may this new year bring you much happiness. I know it's hard to be patient, but remember that God says that prayers will be answered. I imagine he's waiting on just the right baby for you. :) I love you, and will follow THIS journey through to the fork in the road where you get your baby and start another journey. Love, Rhonda
