Jeff and I are starting over!
After last week we really do not have an option but to "back up and punt" as Jeff would say. We are still praying about our first agency and praying for the director of the agency. And truthfully, I am still hoping that we get a placement through them because I just don't want to see all of that time and money wasted but in reality I am not looking for it to happen.
We have started the initial application process with Embraced by Grace in Florida. It is the same agency Jay and Amy are using and we have been pleased thus far. They actually return emails! WOW - that is something we are not used to getting! :-) We passed the first phone interview so they are mailing a paper application to us. After that is completed and approved we will have a last phone interview and a final vote before the board before we can say we are actually active with the new agency. They use several steps to make sure the agency and the adoptive parents are a good fit for each other before anything is official which is good!
We have to have our home study updated so we are meeting with our social worker Carla next Tuesday. She comes back to the house to interview me, Jeff and Olivia again. We have to get police, state, and FBI clearances, and physicals again. Plus we have to have our references write another letter. More paperwork! I was so happy the first time when I got all of the paperwork finished but here we go again! Oh well!
Jeff and I are feeling better. It is still not easy when you feel like you have been betrayed but it is a healing process! Everyone has been so kind to us! Thank you for all your sweet words and prayers. It has truly made a huge difference. Jeff and I know that God allowed this to happen for a reason - what the reason is we don't know yet but I pray that He will revel it to us and allow us to use this pain and hurt to honor Him in some way. And I know when we are handed our baby none of the pain will be remembered!
Jay and Amy go before the board this week (I think it is tonight) for their final approval so say a prayer for them.
Again, thanks so much for your prayers and your words of comfort!
